Just saw the broadcast version of this excellent story on @spectrumnewsny1.bsky.social and one thing that’s striking is to see extended video of people being grabbed and a family being separated at 26 Fed. Too often we see very short glimpses. Very powerful to see longer video.

Erin's central pressure was in the 990s this time yesterday, and it's now in the 920's heading for the teens. This will make Erin the fastest deepening Atlantic hurricane before Sept 1st. Beating Emily 2005, by a lot.

This is a good journalism reality check: does a story in major publication successfully indicate that his qualifications are paltry compared with historical standards? The one I just read in a major pub rattled off his resume but failed to give that context.

I think NY Post is an under appreciated component. Huge caveat: I haven’t tracked closely! But Post will run story saying “libs come for tktk” and when you read it the story will cite a few random Xitter users with handles like @progfan8637. Seems sometimes these are what then get “covered” on Fox

Ditched air fryer for a convection toaster oven. Far more versatile, cooks only a touch slow than air fryer. Was actually surprised how much I love it. Reheat a slice of pizza beautifully, air fry/roast salmon, and make great toast too

As a former WSJ reporter it’s hard for me to express how disturbing this one-two of shattering Fed independence and creating room for doubt on economic data feels
Voters can’t complain about economy if no one knows how it’s actually doing!

A real test for journalism coming up here. Not easy to explain to mainstream audience why even the SPECTER the books might start getting cooked at Trump’s direction will give economists shivers. This. Fed independence. We’re starting to mess with the operating system of the economy.

#Breaking: Just got off the phone with a NOAA spokesperson. DOD has stated that SSMIS microwave scans will be made available to NOAA through the end of the satellites’ lifespan and until the replacement instrument’s data comes online.
