I made strawberry cake tonight and it was perfect! The fluffiest, brightest pink, sugary cake with best artificial strawberry flavor!
Spent all day at the festival of nations so now it’s time to wind down at Civil Life

It’s the first day of the Minnesota State Fair (the best state fair) so I am using my Minnesota mug this morning. It’s also not a fiery inferno temp in St Louis so I am enjoying it outside whilst the cathole enjoys the open windows.
Any of my St Louis peeps have a handyperson they recommend? I am looking for someone to fix a big gate, odds and ends patching up the porch, and such.
I did basil and fish sauce and a more spicy curry paste.
I tried that viral red curry dumpling bake tonight. It was easy and tasty but I needed to add a lot of extra flavor to it.

Kind of strange for someone who doesn’t keep actual fruit (or really any perishable foods) in their house to have these damn fruit flies. Maybe I have Totino’s Party Pizza flies.
That feeling when you’re vibing through your nighttime routine, eyes closed, leaning against the counter, swishing mouthwash, and then your damn cat bites your ankle startling you so you end up swallowing the entire mouthful of mouthwash which leads to a coughing fit and panic.
Did I cancel plans tonight because I found the OG Secret Garden on Roku and got sucked in? Yes. But thankfully I have friends who understand me. Also, in this house we DO NOT recognize the spin-off version of this movie.
When you fall asleep for a nap and it is sunny out and then you wake up to darkness (because of a storm). I legit panicked thinking that I slept through the whole day and evening.

Y’ALL! Pho Long, used to be located on Grand & Shenandoah in a sketchy strip, has moved! It’s now located in the old Manileo spot (oh yeah they closed) on Juniata. They are open and SO YUMMY! They will eventually take over the old King & I spot when it’s ready.
New challenge unlocked! My friends gave me this deck of granny square patterns. One down, 49 to go!
In other news of my ridiculousness - a friend got me a Labubu doll and I found a matching cupcake. So obviously we had to do a little photoshoot.

It pays to stop at a random food trailer in the parking lot of a closed laundromat in the suburbs. Momo King (Union & Bayless) is amazing! I got puri puri, spring rolls, and spicy soup dumplings (momos). You can order online for easy pickup!
Spent the evening on the farm, full of animals and kiddos and sparklers and margaritas

Did you know they make lavender scented toilet paper? I do, because that is what my target curbside shopper put in the back of my car tonight.
I was going to make a bouquet of crocheted poppies for my bestie’s new baby’s room but I made one good one and one not so good one. It took me so long and so many do-overs. It involved wires and the tiniest crochet hook. I may be traumatized.
I haven’t had one of those in decades!

Tried a new spot in the Loop - SiKao Life Chinese BBQ. Skewers of pork belly, beef, cumin lamb, spiced a-choy, and green onions. Plus salt and pepper ribs and spicy duck breast pot.
