I have this issue. I use the freezer and meal prep for multiple weeks at a time. That means that I have more options on hand and more free weekends. It does mean food prep basically takes one whole day a month.

I suppose part of my underlying question is if a study is designed for the visceral definition, then I wouldn't expect that it would have any correlation beyond ND stuff. However, the study was designed for some of the other broader definitions, and I would suspect that it would correlate.
This is a really interesting conversation! Can we not rely on self-reporting? Do we not trust people to tell us their own experience? I'm really big on afferent integration of sensation as being the basis for labeling of experience. I think I did a post yesterday or the day before with five tools
I tend to look at it in relationship to things like alexithymia. My clinical experience is if there is a difference of opinion between the mind and the sensations in the body, that will tend to lead to various types of distress. Totally different to being able to sense if I'm hungry or not.
If you're measuring if my ability to sense when I need to empty my bladder has anything to do with mental health, then that kind of measure might be limited to specific diagnosis including different neurodiverse flavors.
It seems like there is a very broad difference in available definitions. That would dramatically shift how one would design an instrument for a study like yours. That would also limit the interpretation of the results in clinical terms and across modalities.
