If life circumstances didn't require me to remain in Brooklyn, I'd probably be living in PDX, so this tracks a lot for me. As someone who works nights/weekends and misses a lot of NY Pride events, I deeply love that Portland does Pride in July, a slower month for my work, so easier to take time off.
On further thought, that sounds like a great excuse for a trans blood rave...

⚠️ICE at 144th & Broadway, NYC They detained a man in his 50s-60s before I could record. As you can see, the blue Mazda had its plates obscured, and this guy took off all his gear within seconds. You'd never know they were there. I was shocked how quiet it was. Didn't think it was #ICE at first.

It's absolutely ridiculous that portions of the Blue No Matter Who crowd are already punching left and demanding fealty to Newsom or anyone else at this point. Go volunteer for a local election. Protest. Pay attention to mid-terms. We have miles to go before we get to the earliest days of 2028.

Just want to say that it feels like you're handling all of this well, given the difficult nature. When I got out of an abusive relationship, I basically set everything on fire, myself included. Anything to get out. Being deliberate and thoughtful in your moves bodes well for you. That's not easy.
