The first time I made money was in the 3rd grade, when I used a wire brush to scrape creosote off railroad ties to be used as fence posts. I was paid 25¢ (silver) / tie and earned every cent. My first 'real' job was at a cable car tourist attraction, where I worked all positions except management.

That's good for people in the market for a pre-owned EV. I'm still driving a micro ICE vehicle, a 2009, sold new in late 2008. 17 years later, it has 85,500 miles on it (5k/yr). So, I could buy an EV with 100k on the clock, and the battery would outlive me? Or is there deterioration with time?

I'm not familiar with the power ratings on conventional electrics, but the single burner Duxtop I bought can eat 1800 watts at full power. I've never seen such rapid heating on any conventional cooktop. Unless I'm trying to rapidly boil something, I never go to full power on it.

My puzzlement was over your DDG browser and DDG video player. From my perspective, I see no need for separate apps to browse and watch videos, as Firefox already does both, and has an integral ad blocker. To be perfectly clear, I use DDG multiple times per hour; it's my go-to search engine.

Ads aren't my #1 beef with YT. You must be talking about smartphone apps, and I don't own one... I wouldn't watch videos on a palm-sized screen if I did. DDG's video player?? DDG browser?? Eh?? I use DDG and watch videos every day, but I don't have a DDG 'video player' or browser; I use Firefox.

I'm a channel owner, so I'm almost always logged in, and I don't see what you've described. My biggest gripe about them (aside from their Google ownership) is their relentless push for vertical videos, which I loathe. I see Vimeo as an alternative, but it doesn't have as many viewers as YouTube.

The screwworm was successfully eradicated in the USA 60 years ago by the introduction of sterile male flies. Currently, the biggest threat is to food security (infected cattle). The sterile male strategy is being employed again on a large scale as they spread northward through Mexico. No panic yet.

It may not be much, but for one, you can immediately stop using their search engine. There are multiple, BETTER, options available. I recommend making your final Google search, [alternatives to google]. My choice from the responses back in the early 2010s was duckduckgo, alternatively Ecosia.
