We have an economic system based in growth. Restructuring the economic system makes sense, and some countries do succeed in developing a tax structure that supports a strong economy without population growth, but the US is not there. The US birthrate doesn't even cover replacement.

I don't entirely agree and Carney said as much in his interview with Amanpour on CNN. USA is not included because they don't want to be. The rest of the world is just getting on with business. It's not a rage reaction, it's just the US doesn't want to participate, so they are being ignored.
