Like you'd be crazy if you called the original Persona 3 outdated. Yeah Tartarus kind of sucks and some battle mechanics are odd but that's not outdated design when previous games by Atlus literally did what the modern ones do. It's just how the game is designed.
I feel that "outdated" has become a catch-all term for old games that people dislike, completely forgetting some game mechanics are purposeful and not necessarily a product of their time.
