Way back in the ancient days of gaming yore, the GREYHAWK supplement introduced the paladin character class, proudly inspired by Holger Carlsen from "Three Hearts and Three Lions" by Poul Anderson. The paladin appears with its save bonus, detect evil ability, etc., which reappears in 1st ed. +
Hurley's The Stars are Legion is freaking excellent. Also has my all-time favorite book dedication.

Most importantly, just listen to your body. If it hurts, stop, just walk or take the day off. Starting out, I'd probably go 2 or 3 times a week if youre feeling alright. Take at least a day of rest in between.
Stick with the absolute basics even if it makes for a boring start. Get good, comfortable shoes, comfortable clothes to move in so nothing's chafing or overheating. Start slow, real slow. Walk a bit, run a bit, repeat. Take it easy and be overly kind with yourself.

okie dokie, I think the first pass on the barbarian overpaint is done, I'm planning on doing another paintover layer towards the end that will tie all of the levels together (just little things like light spill and smoke and magic effects) this is the most ambitious painting I've ever tried to do???
