Check out Reddit r/fountain pens feed. You can get some good recommendations there. And the prices are lower than you’d think. I got two Asvine v200 on Amazon @ ~$50. There are less expensive than mine but still highly serviceable pens on Amazon. Good nib is the key.
Concur pen writing quality does not always follow price. I have a $32 TWSBI ECO that writes better than a Montblanc and Parker costing far I had years ago.
