NYC hasn’t had competent mayoral leadership for 12 years (de Blasio twice & then Adams). The idea that an inexperienced DSA politician whose ascent is based on trashing Dem leaders & proposals that have no basis in fact is daunting. Cuomo at least single-handedly got NY through COVID.
Democrats. Democrats brought us every part of our social safety net. It’s not enough and it took supermajorities. GOP has never stopped trying to dismantle it.
At this point Mamdani is the Dem nominee. Unlike the DSA, Dems support our candidates rather than encourage ppl not to vote for them.

Enthusiasm grows when voters see a party fighting and winning. (And Democrats are doing both- fighting back on redistricting attacks and special election wins). Constant gloom, both sides coverage, and magnified Dem drama don’t inspire turnout — they smother it.
Down-ballot Democrats barely exist in MSNBC coverage. Meanwhile Fox elevates every random GOP backbencher into a national figure. That’s a huge imbalance.
Every Dem family fight gets magnified into “the party in disarray,” while GOP fractures are brushed aside. It divides us when we need to project strength.
MSNBC has made Trump the center of the universe, giving him endless oxygen while Democratic wins barely get a mention. That doesn’t build confidence, it feeds despair.
