Arlington Bridge? Left to rot. City owned parks and pools closed down, while the south end gets the royal treatment. Pet projects to extend Chief Peguis and expand Kenaston are already costing nearly $1b. Just ridiculous priorities by unserious councillors.

I was, and will continue, to hope that a proper spine-and-feeder transit model is better than whatever was cobbled together before. But it’s getting rather hard to ignore that the city handicapped this overhaul, rushed it out too early, and then made the most cuts to areas that need transit the most

There is no galaxy-brain, 4D-chess move at play here. Carney and his government continue to acquiesce and normalize the abhorrent behaviour south of the border. Whatever reason you think it’s for, it’s not a good enough one

This is pure Willie Hortonism. The message is this: as long as there is just one bad weekend, or one bad event, crime cannot be “down” and we cannot be “safe.” We are only “safe” based on impossible standards, and we can never get “safer” as long as some risk exists.

While I don’t disagree with that, it’s the fact that a team whose dynasty was built on being better on getting all the minor details and nuances of the CFL game right, is now just as bad or worse than other teams, really drags the whole thing down. Especially when led by the “Canadian Mafia”
WPGChief (@wpgchief.bsky.social) reply parent
If WPG takes their aspirations of playing in the Grey Cup seriously, they need to re-evaluate their offensive play calling ASAP. Sticking with Hogan is a long term view that doesn’t coincide with this team’s best players close to retirement - even if they are still the best players in the team
WPGChief (@wpgchief.bsky.social)
Roughriders are back to their habits of nearly beating themselves at the end of every game, and Bombers are just poorly coached on offence relying on their best players to make talented plays. And both these teams were blown out by Calgary in each pair of games.

Really not liking the playcalling from Ben Hogan thus far today - and to be honest, hasn't really shown much growth this season either. Wallace being the weakest link on the OL and SSK abusing that isn't helping, but Bombers should have scored 17 or 21 and they only have 10.

Oliveira is still a beast but can’t play catch up if you don’t score any points on the long drives and your defence immediately folds the drive after. Younger needs to figure out his scheme looking at it from another perspective, and hopefully he isn’t asking Richie Hall for help.

Defensive line were able to get some pressure, but there must be some tell that opposing QBs know what the safest hot route option is for a guaranteed 10yds. Collaros getting injured every game isn’t a good sign. Streveler has improved as a passer but still too many bad throws in a 3-down game.
WPGChief (@wpgchief.bsky.social)
Caught up on the Bombers game. It wasn’t as catastrophic as I was reading about, but the bad habits (offensive turnovers on long drives) and obvious weak links (secondary playing 10yds+ off of the LOS) yet again put WPG behind early. Starting to see some personnel changes from coaches, finally.

I’m not ignoring anything; all I was trying to get across was that MLB’s style of arbitration is a better reflection of where each side sees the player’s value, whereas we are seeing rather obvious attempts to game it.
WPGChief (@wpgchief.bsky.social) reply parent
“Settle before the hearing because otherwise the hearing itself will totally destroy the relationship between the team and player while our arbitrator will mostly award something in the middle of each other’s asks” is a pretty weird incentive
WPGChief (@wpgchief.bsky.social)
Another day, another wish for adopting MLB’s style of arbitration as opposed to both sides trying to game how NHL arbitration usually goes with dividing the team ask and player ask by two. Thus, a 1 year contract could likely end up as $2.5m + $6m = $8.5m / 2 = $4.25m ruling.
