In high school, Ryan Gosling was on a trivia team. I was moderating a match and the question was something about Disney Mouseketeers. Ryan’s teammate announced that he had been a Musketeer. I took in his disheveled appearance and laughed. “He was a Mouseketeer? Sure. And I’m the queen of England.” 🤦♀️

When I taught Lord of the Flies to 10th graders, I made sure they understood the political ideologies represented by each character and their actions. Little did I know back then, I’d see in my lifetime, the return of Jack (Trump - fascism ) and Roger (Stephen M- sadism/totalitarianism). 😢
