In S1 I didn't feel super compelled to try most characters cause they just kinda join without much fanfare Not so in S2, everyone gets a cool introduction and sometimes even a whole side quest or arc and it makes me wanna cycle a lot of characters in and out

Suikoden 2 is such a huge improvement in every way and it seems to be at least twice as long, Suikoden 1 almost feels like a Xenoblade esq expansion to it in comparison It's almost to the point where I wanna put them together and that this collection as a whole might get a spot in my top 100 lol

I think in terms of gameplay and pacing I definitely liked Suikoden 1 more than Eiyuden but I do think Eiyuden had a bit of a stronger story and cast But I know a lot of 1 characters and story get followed up on in 2 so my mind may change retroactively!

85. Genso Suikoden Really quick and comfy game, pacing's great, battle system's super fun, AMAZING music. Only minus for me is the story felt a bit basic but the characters are so good it didn't really bother me. I'm jumping right into 2 tomorrow!
