Guns in the US are so traumatizing. We saw a street fight today and husband was so worried one of the guys would pull a gun; that literally never occurred to me (bc we’re outside the US). In the end it doesn’t even seem that either men were hurt at all; in FL or TX it could have been fatal…

My PhD, on a student visa, took me 6 years to complete. This law would have made it impossible for me to complete my degree. Also, I met husband in my fifth year of grad school so basically my whole life would have been ruined by this.

Some personal and professional news: I’m on sabbatical!! 😭🙌🏻 This is my first sabbatical ever and I’m very excited. The personal part is that husband and I decided to take our sabbaticals in Tahiti, where we are visiting the GAATI laboratory of the Université de la Polynésie française.
We will definitely see him! He’s the person husband is visiting here and he’s been helping us so much with the logistics… we used his address to open a bank account yesterday 😅 and our kid is going to the school his kids are at!
