The moral stance, that trans people have rights, can't also be the practical one that will win them votes. That would affect the game balance or whatever. It MUST be one or the other, otherwise they're just bigots.
Something to watch out for is how centrists, as we see with the newsom stans, take doing a morally awful thing as a practical requirement to win, as if there's an even moral-practical scale and you must take points off of one side to bolster another.
Trans rights is not something you have to justify, it's both a moral and practical requirement for a candidate.
