Here's a preview of this scenario. Pete wins Iowa, AOC wins 2nd or plurality in MI, NY, and NV, Newsom maybe wins NH and bets everything on California only for a squeaker of a plurality while AOC picks up a string of wins in the sunbelt.
Beyond that is the incipient economic fallout to the Trump administration along with ongoing economic pressures that have been building for years that the Republicans are uniquely ill suited to combat. The country will not be willing to hear the same old politicians spout the same failed policies.
Going into 2028, we have a glut of empty shirts (mostly white men) that politicos love because precisely because they're empty shirts. None are particularly skilled speakers, or have even a fraction of AOC's fundraising ability or media savvy. They'll cancel each other out.
Putting aside the question of if she would win, the answer to IF she will run is pretty obvious. If she doesn't run, she will almost certainly be the VP nominee of whatever empty-shirt white guy survives the primary. She's on the ticket either way, so why run for Senate?
