More than a decade in public service and I’m here to tell you that serving on the school board of for our Metro Nashville PUBLIC Schools is by far the most rewarding experience I’ve had.

We have got to do a better job figuring out how to make WeGo the most accessible and convenient option at BNA. The gridlock this evening is crazier than anything I’ve ever seen in my life.
BNA has got to find a way to get buses in and out. Meanwhile he is taking a taxi to my location offsite because that was the most efficient way to navigate this situation and prevented me from adding my car to the gridlock.
The existing loading zone is safe. NDOT is recommending this in response to a pedestrian that was struck when a vehicle was parked OUTSIDE the loading zone and potentially blocking the view of the pedestrian crossing might. But, hey, happy pride.

Just to clarify, y’all, my post is about highlighting the improvements we must prioritize to increase ridership. You and I know the true benefits of transit but we have to meet everyday people where it matters to them—time and convenience. Bus lanes, priority signals, increased frequency. Boom.
I don’t necessarily expect transit to be faster or the exact same, but for us to attract more riders it’s need to at least be a competitive option. (And the transit time doesn’t include me having to drive to Rivergate Mall)
In other news, future First Husband Chasten Buttigieg was in town this evening on the book tour for his new children’s book. He’s so darn friendly!!
I want to take the bus to the courthouse for Thursday’s council budget committee hearing but it will more than double my travel time one way.. and still require me to drive nearly two miles to get to the transit stop. Happy for the CHYM committee to get to work!
On May Day, we honor the sacrifices workers make to support their families. As someone raised in a second-gen UAW home, I’m thankful for the 8-hour workday—it gave my dad and granddad time to earn a living and be present. To our MNPS staff: I see you, and I’m fighting for the pay you deserve.
Listed a unit there last year. Due to buildings plumbing, none of the units have hookup for washer/dryer & building fee is very high for few amenities. It was $815 a month for the 3BR I listed. Many units have door from hall directly into kitchen. I was told this was for domestic workers to use.
