reflecting on the last time I saw NIN…and you really had to live it to understand how good some of the music festivals in the 00s were
NIN last night was got-damn spectacular

i also wrote about White House Robot Romance this week from DSTLRY, which I enjoyed quite a bit...who says you can't have some goofy fun (making robots kiss) while tackling serious issues like alienating international allies and over reliance on technology

YES. It’s a song of the people. They had a call in song competition on the radio station I listened to as a kid, and that song set the record for most consecutive victories, until being de throned my Machine Head by Bush, if I remember correctly
this is fantastic
I dug in and became a passionate space hog defender, despite being partially joking at the start of the argument
i think at one point he wrote: "i need you to acknowledge that song was terrible" ...we hadn't spoken in like a decade
high water mark on that platform for me tbh
i don't miss the other place, but one time i tweeted about how some 90s show should revive that space hog song the way stranger things revied kate bush...and a boss i had at a job in like 2009 left me a detailed thread about how much that song sucked
I wrote long about the Matt Fraction, Jorge Jimenez, and co., Batman #1 that's out this week...which I liked quite a bit!

anyway, i like bsky, i like the people i follow on bsky, and i'm going to keep using bsky, not really looking for the platform to win validation from whoever
twitter had buried post with links long before it got as bad as it is now...and i think that cultivated a user base that wouldn't leave the platform it had the illusion of being more useful than it was for a lot of things we'd once used it for, including sharing articles and comics projects
there's engagement on here, people want to hear about new and interesting things, they want to support each other, and I think many of the people who dismiss Bsky (including silver specifically) want it to fail because they are aggressively unpopular here
LRT: personally, I've found bsky to be a very effective means of getting the word out about my new comic so far I promoted my last comic in the Spring of 2024 (after Musk had bought X but before a more significant amount of comics folks made the jump here) and it was far more difficult
"Blueskyism" helped make The Onion one of the largest newspapers in the world in less than a year. If we had spent all of our time on Twitter, we'd be poorer, dumber and terminally ill with internet poisoning. He's just angry he's wasting away over there in a nazi agnostic lane that doesn't exist.

Oh wow, that’s such a nice association to have with it. Aside from my neighbor doing the music puzzle for me, the only other memory I have is biffing the ending first time and getting imprisoned in a book smh

What’s up with this cover? Which of the Hernandez brothers drew that one? None of ‘em, that’s who. This one came straight from the source. Their mom, Aurora, drew this in the late 40s, according to the inside front cover. They always said they draw comics because she did. RIP, amazing lady.
