Thph I don’t mind AI as a shorthand, much like it’s been used in the past with other less refined versions be it in video games or early neural networks. But the hype and marketing is way out pf control and the people pushing it are going to alienate people for decades
Like, there are legitimate uses for these kinds of learning models. They just aren’t A) able to replace people’s jobs B) quick sensational money makers and C) easily marketable to the masses. Oh and D) in many cases not much if at all better than some of the older tech we have just yet.
Honestly hearing how so many people are turning to AI because their dreams basically were crushed and they didn’t have a chance to pursue their passions is sad. The fact this slop has completely dominated the discussion and poisoned the well for actual potential uses for LLMs is sad.
Like the whole vibe coding has become a giant joke in a lot of the circles I run in. Hell my partner straight up said that some of these people don’t even know they’re being insulted when they’re called that
I’ve already seen this a few times on steam. The coding I can’t say for certain but AI assisted Translations, Art, and people having backlashes to go with it

Like seriously if you're going to dog on something at least take the time to look into it and don't just keep dunking on it. It's why I have a lot of respect for people who even if they aren't interested in playing the game are at least willing to hear people defend it and why they love it
And like maybe it's just coming from the card game that I've loved since it's inception that's always been dogged on by the MTG community [like even when I was playing MTG competitively there was that air of hostility but for different reasons] but it does get to me.
Like for example in YGO generally speaking reading a card explains the card, with the trickiness being learning how to read problems solving card text. With MTG you can get hit with multiple keywords that you need a whole extra book for.
I just have to say. Among the more irritating things I have to deal with internally regarding being a YGO player is not just the memes about "Can't read" [fairly true] and "too much text" [only sometimes] is the elitism from MTG players over Keywords. Thankfully it's not often but it gets irritating
