One of the most distinctive things about Ava's songwriting is how surprisingly tongue-twister some of her lyrics are. It takes me a while to nail them, which I LOVE. The catchy pop hooks are deceptive; you assume the whole song is simple. I think this is her slickest album. It's tight. Fierce.
I judged this album as "well, it's no 'Diamonds & Dancefloors'" but then realized I have had the entire thing stuck in my head for days, and that is remarkable. Not one song; not two songs - all twelve tracks, on loop in my head. "Don't Click Play" is 34 minutes of pop bliss. π₯
Remembered to do all the things before I returned the company car - gas it up, scoot the seat back, disconnect my phone, etc. - but just realized I left the stereo bass turned all the way up.

Supervisors emailing each other to talk about how awesome I am. Ok, I think I need to go home now. π
I mean, I wasn't exactly relaxing, I was still pulling a lot of the strings. But that's the way I like it.
I realized this week was a pretty cool full circle moment for me. About a year and a half ago I swooped in to help out for a retreat when an admin fell ill, and that's really when my path shifted. Today I was *on* a retreat in the same place, in a higher-paying position. That's neat.
Yeah, I gotta tell you, I am never making that mistake again. Should've bought instantly.
It turns out I unpack the same way I pack - one torturous thing at a time, with a lil' snack in between
New job just had a retreat at old job. The negative: -It made me excruciatingly sad. (I NEVER wanted to leave old job, but I was underpaid for my skill set.) The positive: -I got to see all my friends!!! ππ (And it made me feel so powerful, like yeah, no big deal, I know everyone here. π)
The vibes were immaculate in that regard. I'm so glad you said it, because I thought it was just me. π
That's such a good way to describe it. I like it for *exactly* that reason! Made me feel like I was in high school again, in a good way.
