Realizing he may not be with the club at this point next week, I love Ange. Some of his press conferences in the last 6-8 weeks about how he talks about what this would mean to the club..I don't know if I've seen any other coach seem to get it like he does.

I'd buy the Vancouver Canucks, their arena and anything else tangentially related to them and find a proper plot of land for their practice rink. I would create an entire public outreach arm of the club and become the gold standard for using sport to support community programming and outreach.

I think we’ll know in the first 15’ how the game will play out. If they’re front foot, even without the equalizer, they’ll be fine. But if AZ can grind things down and get the crowd grumbly, I don’t know if this version of Spurs has enough to overcome that.

Nope. Besides the true lack of stakes, it’s a lot of 5pm start times that land right at dinner into bedtime for a young family.

The last 10 minutes, my 3 year old wanted me to play/snuggle; seeing what was coming I kept an ear on the match but enjoyed our time. My goal for today is to remember that smile she put on my face as I read/think about that match. I know you’ve got blog things to do, but I wish you a similar smile.

I’ll always have a soft spot for the Spurs coverage there; they were my gateway into finding others Spurs writers while here in western Canada. But the hockey coverage there is top notch and I’ll be there until that changes.
I’m curious to see how the pod goes with Eccelshare gone now. He (and JPB) seemed like a good foil to the fandom of Maw and Kelly. Don’t know much about Harris but curious if he can balance things off as much.
If you have time to watch some You Tube videos, I’ve learned a TON from Potato McWhiskey. He doesn’t do as much civ lately, but for a while there he had a lot of let’s play videos and live streams and does a really good job of talking through what he’s doing as he plays.

I feel your pain! I’ve started to just play with just my capital, or maybe one settler, for the first era to build enough of a defensive military and then focus on expansion in the second era and it seems to be working better.
Fuse Ange-ball with a couple outgoings/incomings in the summer and a new set piece coach and we should really start cooking.

100% agree on the Messier echo. I still can’t stand him (although 14 year old me was so excited when he signed) and love that they’ve erased him from club memory, but his fallout provided so many great memories for me.
