The overall takeaway from the Epstein survivors’ press conference is that they are united and are no longer going to allow rich and powerful men to victimize, silence and intimidate them. Including the ones in Congress and the perp in the Oval Office.
As a survivor, I can't think of a more fitting metaphor than a rapist creating loud noises with planes as a survivor tries to tell her story. I mean... just wow. Nevertheless, she persisted.

I'm aware that the President likes to go on television and beg me to call him to ask for troops. I find it strange, as Chicago doesn't want troops. I also have experience asking him for assistance – just to have the rug pulled up from underneath me when execution meets reality.
Creating a force that can kill people at will almost anywhere on the globe and then giving control over that force to one person with no operable constraints is a way to make very bad things happen. Intentionally killing non-combatants without trial is one of those.

That Pritzker press conference was... surreal, and I think marks a significant moment of escalation in the constitutional omni-crisis. This was the governor of a state saying plainly the Union itself is being torn apart and his state is being militarily invaded by an authoritarian regime.
