I can't take anyone with a "Sir" seriously when it comes to talking about what acceptable pay for anyone who actually has to work for a living.
Lets get this clear. They do not need an excuse to declare martial law, if they want to do that, they will manufacture a reason. Say, blowing up someone getting mugged so its a national security issue. You absolutely, cannot just not oppose them because you think it will make them worse.
Camp Happy Trails and Wingard Cottage are like, the best locales, lol Maple street would work really well too thematically.
The great thing about Mort is you pop him in most setting and its just a Halloween party, there's so very little thematic dissonance for most of the locations.
I two shot him once revealed. The potion gave me the 6 cost hit card, and I had the final girl who stores victims and can spend them for damage. So I hit him with the big attack and then the weak attack and got a lucky zero health (I forgot about the bonus pack though.... ooops)
Its a clever one, I think i like the killer more than the location though. its one of those boxes where both are quite busy so playign with both makes for a very full on game
This time, things we a lot better against MORT the teenage dirtbag. I found a @vanrydergames.bsky.social bag and it contained a magic potion and a folding chair. An absolute game changer and I took my POWERSAUCE and proceeded to smack Mort upside the head like he was on an old ECW show.

My first real hit for Hollandspiele as a designer was Supply Lines of the American Revolution. During the years before the company started, I had pitched it to several other publishers, all of whom said no one would ever buy a game on that subject or with that title. 🧵
This was our first interaction, I was stunned someone was taking on the topic and thought it was going to be some Eklundesque hellscape of bad ideas. I was very much won over to the idea of the game and that you could pull it off.

With very fresh eyes and no expectations, i found it quite good. Wonderfully simple, elegant and engaging Some days in this reviewer gig, you get done playing a game like civolution and go "man, that was work" and then you play something like this and it just goes from turn 1 with no effort at all

I had the chance to get into this game at the ground level. They are NZ local and offered me review copies before release. But i looked at their plans and thought no way is this gonna work, they were coming out of the gate with 10k+ prize support for an unknown CCG with a new pub I was quite wrong

Formula one is a massive global billion dollar sport, run off the back of volunteer labour. As long as a business gets given free labour, they'll take it. People need to value their time more and get over the idea that helping a pay event is helping the community, it isn't.
Okay I'm gonna say it: it's really weird for large for-profit conventions to have "volunteer" staff. Fan-run cons do that because they're non-profits and no one is getting meaningfully paid. Professional cons are businesses and businesses need to pay for labor.

Obviously, an animal rescue theme has a much broader appeal than the relatively niche Thunderbirds, which was big in the UK, Australia and NZ but probably not anywhere else. Still, as a thunderbirds fan, a generic theme can't beat saying F.A.B after every action. But it gets to a new audience!
It's all there, the dice resolution system, moving vehicles around the board with the right specialists and kit to get the best possible results for your rescue attampts A time track you are racing against and a incident track that keeps loading up. Skill tokens, special cards. Very cool to see.

I can't express in words precisely how much someone putting an image like this on their game immediately makes me think they have no fucking clue about anything. I would not trust their rules, I would not trust their quality control, and I would not trust them to stay in business.

Now, this is not to say if it had good games, you shouldn't boycott the franchise. What i'm saying is the franchise has been pumping out slop for 20 years intended to fleece its fans of cash with very little actual effort into making good games. You deserve better than reskins and fan service slop
Compare this to the other "Big franchises" LOTR has War of the Ring, Duel for middle earth and more Star wars has Rebellion, X-wing, Imperial assault and more Marvel has United, champions and legendary. HP has the worst track record for a major IP in board gaming by far.
On reflection, Harry Potter is a remarkably easy franchise for a board gamer to boycott. There has never been a good HP themed game, not one. The highest rated one on BGG is a deck builder, and I played it and it was awful. (I rated it a 3/10 in 2019 and skipped doing a vid on it) HP games are crap

So in an amazing turn of events, the Green party seemed to have gotten rid of all its cookers from the past and are now the party with the highest rate of people who trust science and medicine. Heck yeah that's a positive story from this data. PS. All the cookers went to NZ First it seems.
