Ouch. That was her, too. IDK if it's worth mentioning, but she finally had sinus surgery bc even with the shots any swelling in the area was excruciating. Just too small passages. It really worked-she rarely has headaches now, and they were a daily struggle for much of the year before the surgery.

I don't see this as a bad thing. It should be ok to have a diverse set of beliefs and priorities, and to not find any single party to be a perfect match. I think there'd be less division if we started from here and talked about these differences instead of making demands.

Absolutely. Emerson should be ashamed and no one should deign to publish anything about it. And yet, they did it and plenty of outlets reported it. And so it's out there shaping the narrative even when it shouldn't be.
Pushback means countering their claims about his positions (with sources), or pointing out that we've got time and there are candidates with stronger records. It devolves into assumptions about me (such as I must not have voted for Harris) and insults (I must not care if fascism reigns).
The gist of their position is that pressing for the rights of trans ppl and the homeless will end in another GOP president, and so either I shouldn't be calling out Newsom on these issues, or an attempt to show he's supportive of these groups.
He lost my respect in 2016 when he tried to hand-wave away his very inaccurate prediction by blaming media and lay people. We couldn't understand probability, that's why we *thought* he was wrong. If that has even the tiniest amt of validity, it's bc stats ppl are crap at explaining stats.

I am a Newsom detractor and I don't claim anything I can't back with sources. Not saying ppl aren't doing that, but they certainly don't need to.
I've no problem with those who applaud specific actions. Many do not, based on ppl already discussing the primary, claiming concerns about him are unfounded, and how they react to pushback on those subjects.
Not sure what you mean about rhetoric and labeling. Or how calling out Newsom prevents a focus on democracy. Or why to support any Democrat who runs. Larger discussion, great, tho midterms are way more important than 28 primaries. But if ppl push for Newsom now, I'll push back now.
As for "purity tests," I think they have their place at this point, pre-primary. There are reasons IMO that Newsom should never get as far as a primary, and sticking to those hopefully sends a msg that he's more trouble than he's worth.
I *think* Zenkus is a leftist, based on other things he's said. And yes, leftists are often loud and unreasonable, and die-hard Marxist-Leninists reject compromise as axiomatic. IMO, progressives need to clearly separate themselves and talking about being "more left" is not the best way.
Supporting Newsom's resistance of Trump doesn't require championing him as a presidential candidate or accepting what's unacceptable about his policies. The actions of Newsom supporters are making it hard to do that.

While I have problems with the way this person (and others) are expressing themselves with threats instead of reason, I don't think saying Newsom is a non-starter is the same as not caring. Newsom fans need to know there are those of us who will work to take him out of the running.

From a point of principle, they show a willingness to abandon vulnerable groups even without an imminent need to do so. Cognitively, more they tout newsom, more weight they give reasons they support him. Calling them out now can counter this, and prevent their influence spreading.

I was told by a tech that breast density can make a difference in how uncomfortable it is, denser = more discomfort. That said, as a person with dense tissue, the actual amount of time the tissue is compressed is maybe 3 minutes? So, yeah, uncomfortable, but it's over quick.
