it's not that much more complicated, at least for Priuses - extra mechanical connections (which are planetary gears) and software control, but it's the same 1 engine, 2 electric motor/generators. And the advantage is you can accelerate using sum of their power instead of just the 1 electric motor.

in England, you have to pay to own a TV that receives broadcast over-the-air TV, and the government drives vans around that they claim can detect when a TV is on and receiving, in which case they'll ask to see your tv viewing license

yeah, even if you "look beyond" stated goal of 'keep kids safe' and take it as 'ban internet porn', it's not narrowly targeted to do that, lawyers work with whatever the letter of the law gives them

A bike shop guy commented to me that my 80s mtb has a long wheelbase (space for a frame pump behind the seat tube) as well as pretty steep seat tube angle (so it fits more heights of rider) and I'm curious what drove the shortening. the straight part of the chain isn't affecting effort at all

I had to check what I said at the time cause I forgot a lot of the movie in the 4 months since I saw it, but yeah... too many threads from the midpoint on. And I also saw it getting kinda "stage play" taking turns to monologue, which to me made it feel longer at parts that should have felt fast.

If the parents aren't entirely unrelated, the denominator could be less than 200%, so 153/198 or something, I think?
Stereo (@90d.ca) reply parent
to be specific about "on average", the parents would add to 153% (so say 73% and 80%), the full sibling would be normally distributed around 76.5%, nephew half of that number, half sibling half of the mother's number (eg. half of 73)
Stereo (@90d.ca) reply parent
I'd want to start at parents... I think the 47% implies the chimera is fraternal twins. So out of the total 200% of genes, there's 47% repeated, 53%*2 of unique = 153 => 76.5% (on average) present from each parent. I'd expect the rest to go from there - 1. 76.5, 2+3. 38, 4. 19.
