old comics position batman superman and robin as a trio far more than batman superman and wonder woman. I have no idea when the concept of the trinity came into play, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was after the tv show show in the 70s
I guess but tbf the trinity has always been a marketing thing. go back and look at old comics and they're very careful about not having batman and superman on the jsa (their popularity was more) but wonder woman can be. then in the first appearance of the jla, ww is there but no batman or superman
i don't mean this in a bad way, but she was like the first major woman superhero. like she deserves her spot but thats probably the biggest reason, woman being like the toughest one etc
