CBT also seems to subside the therapist’s fear of not “doing enough” to the client. Teach a few skills and you can pat yourself on the back for a job well done. CBT+Managed Care has diluted psychotherapy down from an exploratory process of understanding a client’s psychology into “fixing” them.

I personally blame insurance execs (specifically, the rise of "managed care") and 40+ years of underfunding CMH more so than CBT itself... but "coloniz[ing] all forms of psychological suffering" is a good way to frame the problem

Oof, I'm so sorry. I wish more therapists were open to higher frequency sessions with their cts, the need is there! GVD said it well today: "It would be difficult to do what we're up to at only 2x/wk, and impossible at only 1x/wk sessions. 1x/week would be an entirely different sort of treatment."

Ithaca brand lemon dill... it's still grainy but hopefully that wouldn't be so noticeable with veggies, and the lemon/dill seems to mask the chickpea taste better than other kinds I've tried

Haha, to be fair, I only really learned the second part back in April or so. They were very good at deflecting any asks to go back to twice a week! And/or maybe probably I didn't ~actually~ want to scale back down so they were only halfhearted asks and I didn't question the deflections too much

Lucy's the only cat I've ever had who regularly lounges on her back like this! Rumi has only done it when it's excessively hot (like 95+ temps). None of the cats I had as a kid/adolescent ever did it.
She shifted positions before I could grab my phone for a picture but when I came out of the bathroom she was on her back in a perfectly straight line with all four paws up- usually she curls a bit to one side or the other, like this

I've seen a few folks post that they weren't able to make pharmacy appointments for the COVID vaccine without a prescription so if it helps anyone– CVS let me schedule an appointment just now with only a checkbox to say I have higher risk factors (which I actually do), and without a prescription.
