It was amazing! You could tell who was there for Devo, and everyone was very excited when they found fellow fans. We also loved MCR, and Billy Corgan from the Smashing Pumpkins came out for a finale. And yes, we started out with 3D printed hats but upgraded to official ones! 🔺

Every time I use Shazam, I am grateful that Apple just bought it outright and added it as a feature to all phones. No time for enshittification. My phone is supposed to be a toolbox to enrich my life, but it’s currently filled with Swiss Army knives ordered from Temu.
Same with Google. Same with anything with AI integration. It’s the desire for growth with no consideration of user experience or desires. Even if I did want to use AI, I wouldn’t want it badly shoehorned into every nook and cranny, I would choose the specialized app (which is why ChatGPT is popular)
I like Bluesky and Reddit because they serve one purpose. Bluesky does “tweets”, Reddit does longer specialized blog posts. Snapchat and anything from Meta except for WhatsApp are basically unusable because of how they’ve spread themselves thin and lost their focus.
I’m tired of every app adding in bad versions of other apps to try and compete. I want specialization! I left Spotify last year because it wasn’t actually good at playing my music anymore. I use Apple Music, Apple Podcasts, and Audible/Libby and each does what I want it to do.
Spotify adding DMs feels just like the push to make “X: The Everything App”. All apps seem to be competing to have the largest umbrella of the exact same features in hopes we’ll only use theirs. Instead, we just get burnt out and stuck cycling through unsatisfying user experiences.
It already does that. But then keeps going. If it was actually intelligent, it would stop. But it’s not. It’s a machine that tells you want you want to hear and agrees with you, and small interjections of resources can’t break that cycle
