This movie is going to be the dullest corporate slop imaginable.
Everything I see of this move just looks so corporate and soulless. Remember when the first SW film back in theatres was announced to be Reyโs new Jedi Order film? I had so much hope for the future of the franchise back then.

Iโm definitely a โlike what you likeโ type of guy, but when I see folks cheering for these kinds of Star Wars films that are CLEARLY shallow attempts to please shareholders, while also bashing other projects full of genuine creative integrity (i.e. The Last Jedi or The Acolyte), it hurts my brain.
The new Shawn Levy Star War definitely reads like Disney execs pleading with a certain โfanโ demographic to give their film a shot. A mostly white cast full of big named actors with two white male leads? Easy skip. Between this and โMando and Fuckoโ, the future of this franchise is looking BLEAK.
KOTOR II and Dark Souls 2? Impecable taste! ๐โจ

THE ACOLYTE was a sophisticated social critique and showed us the tough moral dilemma of having to face the consequences of other people's actions, PTSD, trauma bonding, etc, and institutional cover ups of abuse and the right wing part of the fandom hated it because theyre racists
Idk what to tell you man. Pacing issues aside, the show had incredible, layered main characters and enjoyable side characters. Not an ounce of talent wasted. And that cast was STACKED. A literal dream SW cast. And they are that ๐๐๐
