To be clear, the study was extremely rigorous and definitive, literally using screen capture software to break down time spent, in literally every case the AI made the developer slower. Often being misled by the AI, fixing its mistakes, waiting for it to generate code, or regenerating/reprompting.
Also, when I say it makws ppl worse at what they do, that includes efficiency. An extremely comprehensive study found programmers performed 20-40% worse on self nominated tasks when allowed the use of cutting-edge AI tools they had been trained with.

While I love this experience, I must admit it's different to my favourite titles in the series: Bloodborne and Dark Souls. Short but sweet experiences with a small pool of interesting equipment. But while I do prefer those, I'm glad I got to meet Elden Ring on its own terms.
While you may find high level smithing stones, the game kinda expects you to have your gear be at your current bell bearing level, so rather than fretting over what not to spend your stones on. Embrace the grind. That's when it's really most fun.
In Elden Ring it's better to just have the one character you do everything with, and you respec your build whenever you find new gear.
Generally my approach with games like bloodborne or dark souls is to play through multiple times, finding new fun sounding builds to play through with each time. This is great for a shorter game, but for elden ring it wasn't viable, nor was it fun.
So, what I realised is that if you play through 100% in seamless coop with friends, or just generally with other people and treat it less like a traditional souls game and more like an mmo it becomes a much more enjoyable experience.

On the github page they use imperitive installation (using the cli to install it) as the setup guide. While that's easy, you'd probably rather configure it in your flake.nix. cli installation is great, but it removes the benefit of keeping all your config + apps listed in a nice neat file.
