We (the USA) weren't and aren't perfect, but if we really woke up a bit (again! and again!), what could we do in the upcoming 16 years?
I think the weird thing about this is that I was born only 16 years later, and WWII always felt like ancient history to me. I look back 16 yrs now and it seems uncomfortably close. Horrific devastation followed by astonishing progress in what was really a very short time. I'm aghast yet hopeful. 1/

I grew up Lutheran and the thing that still resonates deeply with me is Martin Luther (an educated Catholic) enumerating 95 things he thought The Church was doing that were wrong, and nailing the list to the church door. Study everything, speak up about problems & injustice.
Those lacy shawls are always warmer than they look like they ought to be, and sometimes a little warmth is better than one that is too warm. Plus, the pattern looks like little doves to me. Keep going.
