Those lacy shawls are always warmer than they look like they ought to be, and sometimes a little warmth is better than one that is too warm. Plus, the pattern looks like little doves to me. Keep going.

I opened the comments to say just this! Lace is warmer than one would think, and alpaca is excellent for retaining heat but letting moisture out.
