I’m guessing Newsom’s strategy is “working” in the way it’s primarily intended: by raising money. It’s sort of like Cory Booker’s really long speech. He rallied the disaffected small-dollar donors to open their pocketbooks up again. Actually working to stop Trump? Not so much.
