Ja, ich habe ja auch solche Marken, zum Thema Theater. Ich versteh auch nicht allzuviel davon. Nur eben Vorsicht mit dem Quellenwert, es hat nix mit Jemen zu tun, rein kommerzielles Zeug.

Zu der Zeit war die YAR einer der Staaten, die Briefmarken in fragwürdiger Qualität und meist ohne Bezug zum Land zur Devisenbeschaffung an westliche Motivsammler (bzw. eher Kinder) verhökerten. Bzw. windigen Händlern den Druck und Verkauf lizenzierten. Knapp vor Betrug mit Fantasiestaaten.

Grauenhaft, in diesem Alter. Ich hab ihn nur einmal erlebt, in einer exzellenten Vorstellung von "Lulu" in Basel.
"Le Carnaval de Venise" von Campra (1699) bei Vache Baroque. Tolles Orchester, gut gesungen (fr./ital./engl.) und wohl die akrobatischste Opernvorstellung, die ich je sah (auch von den SängerInnen). Ein überaus gelungener Abend.
Ich seh schon, ich werde nicht verstanden. #plonk
Die Union ist in vielen lokalen und Landesparlamenten nicht mal ansatzweise "faschistisch". Ich wähl sie nicht, aber sie umstandslos mit AfD in einen Topf zu werfen, hilft niemandem.

Ich glaube nicht, dass bei der Union alles verloren ist. Das ist anders als bei den US-Republikanern. Leute wie Kauder oder Polenz würden durch Austritt jeglichen Einfluss verlieren und auch für die Presse mit einem Schlag uninteressant.

What I found strange was the audio quality of the announcements... They didn't use their million pound sound system, but something that sounded like a megpahone...
Don't spend money on the seats there (as they are really uncomfortable and can be relatively far away from the stage), but take the 5-10 pound ticket as a "groundling", standing in the yard. It's an essential part of the fun. One might get a bit wet, though...
I was also there, but we could not see the banners from the choir section at all. And we didn't understand anything they were shouting (I asked my neighbours who didn't either).

Probably the most touristy thing I like to do in London, but I really recommend it for anyone interested in theatre history and how to make it come alive. I really liked all productions I've seen there, I think it's now 8. This summer: Merry Wives of Windsor and Twelfth Night.

Well last night at the Arcola the only non-lager (an IPA) was sold out,and the pub on High Street opposite had all kinds of Czech Pilsners (yummy, but not why I'm here), some other European and British lagers, and two IPAs... I ended up with a Galway Pale Ale. Very different from only 20years ago...
Ha! It's now easier to get obscure German beers at the English seaside than finding a pint of Bitter in London...

Very enjoyable, and the small orchestra was really good (better than last year). Everything very fast, sometimes too fast IMHO. And they robbed us of the lieto fine (arrrgh!). But so nice to be that close! (after the Albert Hall last night of all places).

Knowing the acoustics in the upper circle, I wonder if one can hear anything at all of a performance that quiet most of the time. Even in stalls, the beginning of the ouverture was hardly audible.
Immer wieder lustig, wie die Produktion, zu der die meisten KritikerInnen anreisen, natürlich gewinnt. Was für ein behämmerter Auswahlmechanismus.
I recommend it. Other than that, I liked Brigadoon a lot (the Guardian hated it, though). Of the longer runs, Benjamin Button.

I haven't decided on where to go yet, usually Southwark Cathedral, but maybe St Bart the Great (very conservative conggrwgation, the opposite of Southwark basically, and only electronic organ, but good choir, at a time where the other resident choirs are on holiday).

I think the adaption with the two Americans being WW2 pilots rather than tourists worked very well, but the second act was so heavily abridged that the happy ending was unconvincing and a bit abrupt.
Lerner/Loewe's classic musical "Brigadoon" at the Open Air Theatre in Regent's Park was a lovely performance. Very talented young cast, great singing and dancing, magical atmosphere perfectly matching the piece.

I had already seen their "How am I so single" which I thought was brilliant, so I wanted to see this one, too. It was totally sold out in February, so it had to wait until now.

"Haus of Holbein" making fun of dumb German techno pop was an absolute hoot, though.
SIX is so clever, 80 minutes of pure joy. This first musical by Moss/Marlow is a huge hit with audiences, and deservedly so. Nevertheless I probably only understood half of the meta-historical wit of that libretto, and even less of the musical jokes (because I am not very pop-diva savvy).

A well-written piece, brilliantly played. Oscar Levant is a really interesting figure in comedy and TV history.

I just found out that Hahn cancelled three months of concerts. I hope that she's able to fully recover, as she's such an important force in the music world.
I'd suggest a rewrite of some of the dialogue, though, to give the whole thing more Jane Austen flair and a bit less comedy. Yes, the mothers and grandaunts are a lot of fun in novels and movies, but that's because they are only a small part of the whole thing. Too much here, I think.
"Sense and Sensibility - The Musical" at the Arcola Theatre: an enjoyable 2 1/2 hours with 6 good young singers (singing a dozen roles), and piano, violin, cello. The music was not adventurous, but well done and it even had some pretty good musical songs in the classical style.
Die Ökonomen haben durchaus Mittel, auch Sozialstaat, Gerechtigkeit, Zufriedenheit etc. in Modellen abzubilden. Die, die immet in den Medien kommen, tun es nur nicht. Solange "die Wirtschaft" = Grossunternehmen verstanden wird, kann sich nichts verbessern.

Die DB redet gerade wieder von 60% Pünktlichkeit. Meine Stichprobe gestern und heute: 2 Fernzüge, beide >12 min verspätet. 6 Nahverkehrszüge: 1x 4 min, 1x 6 min (das gilt DB noch als pünktlich), 4x > 10 min. Also 0% Fernverkehr, 33% Nahverkehr. Plus Aufzüge kaputt, Tür defekt, Toilette defekt.
Schön aber die immer noch aushängende Versicherung, dass alle Aufzüge zugänglich bleiben. Da steht ja auch nichts von "funktionieren" ...

Fotografieren dürfen und veröffentlichen dürfen sind zwei ganz unterschiedliche Dinge.
Bzw.weniger Hausrecht i.e.S., damals wurde ein fiktiver Benutzungsvertrag angenommen, weil da irgendwo "Foto verboten" aushing (wobei ich mich lange mit einer Museummitarbeiterin unterhalten hatte, die sich über die Fotos für Wikipedia freute, was mir die Gerichte aber grundlos nicht geglaubt haben)
Ich hatte meine Bilder davon auch bereits herausgesucht...
Ich konnte auch nur mit Wortspiel beitragen... Der Kubismus an sich war ja sehr kurzlebig, und der bekannteste Kubist ist noch ewig urheberrechtlich geschützt, daher mache ich in Museen gar nicht erst Fotos...
Bei nicht urheberrechtlich geschützten Kunstwerken sind Museen normalerweise eher dankbar über die Aufmerksamkeit und die Werbung. Die REM Mannheim haben mich allerdings mal verklagt, BGH hat (m. E. gegen jede Vernunft) Hausrechtsverletzung angenommen. Also um ganz sicher zu gehen lieber fragen.
