Your post is misleading. The Tories were in power from 2019 to 2024. Not Labour.
Unfortunately the Conservatives were in power until July 2024, so Labour weren't in the position to suppress free speech by law. But sadly Labour have done little to eradicate the laws the Conservatives introduced.
