Sure but legal means aren’t the most effective. Look at how scattershot that route has been combating firing federal workers. People in the streets mitigating their checkpoints & documenting their terror (or uselessness) is far more effective in this situation.
I was saying they were in a tough spot to navigate. Situation is fluid & so should your response. Feels like an escalation worthy of lawsuits you were clamoring for. Can’t defend leaving now even if short. Still think peaceful resistance in the streets is the most immediately effective response.

Ah I must admit I conflated general criticism of Garland with this specific case. My bad. Still, Congress has oversight powers, they could’ve held hearings about this and demanded answers from the FBI & DOJ.

Sure, but even then it ignores SCOTUS & Congress roles in this. Both the J6 committee & SCOTUS caused delays. How could they predict drawing Judge Cannon in FL? All of this blame on one branch, armed with 20/20 hindsight, contributes to the prevailing idea of an all-powerful executive branch.
I do think this gets overstated because it fails to address the ideologically stacked courts (especially SCOTUS) they had to contend with. However their bottom-up prosecution approach, while not totally ill-advised without hindsight, failed to account for this & had devastating consequences.

That version of the show dealt with a lot of societal issues of it’s time in a interesting way (many of which are sadly still relevant). The show did romanticize some of the police & prosecution tactics at times but overall did show the harm they could do.
