You should learn public speaking, debate, and how to take a hit from people who would call you names these are the things historically politicians thrived at I would highly recommend going to something like a community college or something and help advance these attributes.
When starting out try not to be dismissive of others opinions because voters do NOT like that try to be friendly and have a friendly argument and be open to others ideas it will make you more approachable to voters.
