Granted, I've had a lot of time between those two jobs, but I get the whole thing with "hurry up and wait". If I could handle other, more complicated tasks, I would. In the meantime though, I'm fine with just being paid to be available.
It definitely depends on the nature of the work environment. If I ever slacked off when I was working as a lifeguard back in high school, I'd get written up. Now, I'm just sitting on my butt waiting for incoming support chats or for tickets to be assigned for processing.

Might I recommend DaVinci Resolve or Shortcut as specialized for video editing? Blender's tools are a little rudimentary afaik.

To be clear, everything is fine. The trainees who were taking the mock calls were instructed to not actually change any passwords, so no credentials were disclosed or modified. The issue only escalated because the trainee put the CEO as the caller in the ticket, which sends an email notification.
My coworker accidentally social engineered a trainee IT service desk rep at our company into "resetting" the CEO's password during a mock call and the ticket notified corporate security and got escalated to the CIO. How'd your Friday go?
