They have huge power in the gaming industry, but their influence is absolutely DWARFED in comparison to the power that these payment processors have on online transactions. If they don't comply, Steam would be crippled, while the payment processors would just see a rounding error.

I feel like there would be massive workarounds. Buy virtual gift cards for the price of games that can then be exchanged and that way you're not buying the game directly and such. Also, taking these processors to court for inhibiting freedom of speech.
