Do you want to teach either topic at a tertiary level? Or is your reason for getting a doctorate something else? Also, do you have any plans to become a college or uni president?
I don’t know this woman or the situation, but I can still tell you the answer is that she’s invested in the popular myth that if everyone just did everything “right” according to clear rules & directions they’d be just fine. Anyone who struggles therefore didn’t follow the rules & are at fault.

Wow. When I was a kid in the 80s and 90s we'd fly teachers in from NZ to talk to K-12 faculty administrators and teachers about how to teach because they were perceived as some of the best in the world (my mom was a principal & we hosted many of them). It's a real shame to go from that to this.
