Last thing I will post tonight about the HPV vaccine is this: It not only prevents cervical cancer, but also penile cancer and anal cancer. So boys should get it, too. (Also, statistical modelling clearly shows that is boys are vaccinated, cervical cancer is eliminated faster)

I think it's not so much the work, but managers forcing one to do more and more of it daily with no slack time. Jump from project A to project b (unrelated, completely) after 90 minutes? Then from B(detail project) to C (unrelated strategy/vision project). It is brain-breaking.

Went to a union event last night and was pleasantly surprised to see another person in a respiratory mask, even noting that he carries spares for people who want them. Unsurprisingly, works in *scientific research*. <- found the guy who understands the evidence.

I buy Mount Zero olives in small packets. The green ones in brine provide a nice eating experience, plus, you can pour the brine out before you tuck in, and refrigerate it to be added to dirty martinis at a later date.

Gotta love Sydney's Chinatown. Yesterday picked up a modest size whole steamed fish, steamed with boatloads of fresh herbs, with a big side of sauce, for $24. Not a complex cook, but a thoughtful preparation. Delicious!

Yup. Australia was COVID-free, and what kept bringing it in were planes and intentional quarantine oopsies by our version of Texas, New South Wales, who tried for months to get it embedded in communities so that the pubs would have customers again.

Wow, that person is fortunate, indeed, to have grandparents around as they enter adulthood. By 18, I'd already lost all of mine (age 10+), and by 22, I'd lost my dad as well.

I read that with a bit of a smirk because that's exactly what went on in Australia when the COVID vax first became available. Older folks got the less effective one with more side effects, Astra Zeneca. Younger folks got the good stuff (mRNA). So....

There is no end to the potential exploits of LLMs. I haven't found one yet, but acquaintances have found more than one. It's a problem for which no good solution exists.

I'm not a fan, but this is by far not the worst example of legal child exploitation I'm aware of. Check out the sexy dance moves kids are being taught at some performing arts schools (and then they go on to perform with their troupe in public.) At least the pageants develop public speaking skills.

I am right there. Still renting despite $350k to put towards a deposit because I don't want the ongoing strata fee expense when older and the biggest mortgage I can get on a high Sydney income is $475k due to my age.

This. So this. It is definitely useful for automating small tasks to assist with everyday work, but even automation of small tasks requires a staggering number of AI provider credits, and most plans offer only a limited number of those per time period.
