You're probably right that "liberal courts don't make ideologically driven decisions so it won't happen." But I'll be disappointed if governors and state legislatures use that as an excuse not to be as conniving and strategic and cynical as possible in getting it done.
If a Republican was faced with a friendly but not THAT friendly supreme court and a desire to redistrict, they would design a trigger to install a new map that happened exactly the instance before laws no longer permit judicial review because it is too close to the election day to change it back.
In the extreme, yes, SCOTUS could decide to just go ahead and have Governors they don't like imprisoned; there's no limit on their power. We might already be there! In practice, these are state constitutional issues, and state supreme courts, not SCOTUS, would hear them.
If Democrats can learn something from Trump it's that you can do things and not care what your constitution says and fundamentally as an executive there's no way to stop it, certainly not on a timeframe that matters.

This isn't true. Meta has invested billions in the Llama models which run great on a mid-tier laptop. Google has multiple features on the Pixel phones which use the on-phone LLM to work. Flux and WAN can generate video and images on any newish MacBook. These are all maybe 18 months behind SOTA.

This is true and why Trump "taking over the Republican party apparatus" was so destructive. There's a big contingent of voters who do not engage in politics or news at all, but their "families are Republican" the way families are "Greek" and if you can get them to a poll they're punching that box.

These are still low rates in the big picture-- most young men and women ARE working, thankfully. But (A) anything that improves things is going to have to target whatever's happening with men, because that's where the issue is worst, and (B) "judging them more” doesn't seem like it's helping.
Sure. It's also true that *something* is happening where young men are not finding or looking for work at much higher rates than women, and higher rates than men 20 years ago. It has long term consequences, because low employment in your twenties correlates to lifetime low employment.
I try not to be gender essentialist about it-- plenty of great male nurses and senior care workers out there. But-- yeah, it sure feels like that's the case.
I don't really know (neither does the BLS). Probably a combination of things. But given the long term trend lines and the recency of the new spike, I'd guess that a major factor is "discouraged," because it's harder than ever to get a job, and the job you CAN find pays a wage that buys you less.
Right. The intersection of that line means, if you're working OR looking for work age 22-27, you're just as likely to be looking if you're a college grad or not. But you're still significantly more likely to be employed if you're a college grad, because more non-college grads aren't looking at all.
It's worth noting (as the source does) that this is in part because there's been a similar rise in the number of young men in the age cohort who have no degree and are not attempting to work at all. (E.g., they are no longer in the "unemployed" category, they're in "Unable to work").
