3/ Neurodivergent people have always identified with characters like Spock, Data or Seven, due to the kind of traits & mannerisms they exhibit. So I can see why they have felt it a bit more mocking than comic relief in nature 3.2 and 3.4 also deviated away from the grittier themes of other eps
2/ The story tried to make humour out of it but went OTT resulting in something a bit more farcical than totally harmless parody.
I also think that Episode 8 is taking a bit too much flack. Though I can understand why people might have been frustrated by it. My take is that it tried be parody the Trek franchise itself. Vulcans have always been seen as socially awkward. 1/

So, "Star Trek: Strange New Worlds" S3.E8 'Four and a half Vulcans' Another fun, quirky & goofy episode. Just wish this season was longer than 10 eps because the gritty, intense and complex episodes, & more light hearted ones, are disproportionate to each other #StarTrek #StrangeNewWorlds #SNW
The only real gripe I have with the more goofy and quirky/ comical episodes this season is that the overall season run is only 10 episodes in total. They're fun and certainly an enjoyable watch. But just too disproportionate to more serious plots and storyarcs. I misss the days 20+ ep seasons.
