I know there’s good intent; but many actually autistic (AA) people consider the puzzle piece cringe if not a hate symbol. Autistics are not puzzles to solve or missing pieces. Autism Speaks which uses the symbol pushes what many AA’s consider conversion therapy on autistic kids.

Anxiety seems like a natural consequence of a life experiencing a world too loud, bright, or filled w/unclear subtext. But I think it would be a bit sad to think of autism as an anxiety DO, b/c in a sensory friendly world where people said what they meant, I think you’d feel calm and peaceful.

I’m so happy for the students. But most parents would never again support their kids to coming to America to study again after this debacle. This administration has sh*t all over its best asset: it’s brilliant, talented, eager, skilled human capital.
That’s what we are lacking: good people willing to act like good people in positions of authority. We are suffering from a critical lack of integrity.
And teachers fwiw are recognized as skilled workers, with preferential immigration abilities to many countries, and I hope they take their families to safety.
The USA is about to experience unimaginable brain drain from anyone that would qualify as a skilled worker applicant elsewhere: physicians, professors, engineers etc. And they will be right to go b/c the USA did not honor it’s social contract: it’s terrorizing academics, autistics, immigrants etc.
