Can't speak for other publishers but most are dealing with the same or similar sales schedules.
For Kodansha, we had a big sales span deadline July 31 so we had to announce a ton of titles in July and couldn't hold any Spring licenses for ANYC. We managed to get three fall titles prepped (Hirasawa was good on the tail of her Eisner win) but didn't want to spoil more so far ahead of preorders.
