Until your team goes through six years (and counting) of unhinged shit like this, don't even try to lecture about what you'd do as a fan. (And don't even think about playing the "simple, just don't cheat" card unless you treat the other teams who broke the same rule the same way.)
For anyone wondering why #Astros fans are the way they are, here's a real human (not a troll, a professor at the University of Dayton) who thinks Houston designed its stadium to injure outfielders and that the franchise should be hated because of it. Take a wild guess who he's a fan of.

Whatever time "addition" there is from making more calls reviewable can be offset (and then some) from eliminating the 5-minute reviews on near 50/50 calls. Real-time judgment calls are a thing. The point of replay should be to correct egregious errors
Also, the argument against — "oh, so you want games to be even longer?" — is nonsensical when the call in question could be overturned in under 5 seconds. My preference is A) all calls reviewable and B) shorter time window to review. The priority should be overturning comically blown calls
I'd legitimately prefer a coin flip to determine whether certain calls can be replayed, at least that would be entertaining. Just arbitrarily leaving it to a bunch of suits, with no criteria other than vibes, is absurd

You see subtle instances of this throughout a game, too. Whenever officials can spot a ball right on a yard line, they love doing that, because it takes away some of the subjectivity and measurements with future spots. Just a matter of whether the ball reaches the corresponding line, 10 yards out
One of my pet peeves with football broadcasters is when they don't recognize that the first-down mark after a touchback is literally the 35-yard line. There's no measurement needed, it's simply is the official coming in at the line or not. Same as end zone

Generally speaking, most people around CFB treat a win over a team ranked 30 about the same as they do one over a team ranked 130. So, you might as well pick 130, in that environment.
There is something to the argument, but this isn't the time/place to make it. Most high-level teams do generally have a spotlight game like this, especially in the 12-team CFP era. The issue is more Texas vs. San Jose State next week, or Ohio State vs. Grambling State. That's what can improve
