It seems funny that the BC govt will pull US liquor off shelves, but consider renewing the 77 land use applications for a company that offers courses to the US military & special ops. I wouldnβt be rubber stamping this application w/o looking into this companies land use given the current situation.
So they are reapplying for a license of occupation, not a lease. I would like to know exactly what kind of groups are taking these sea kayak courses. Is it mostly young people or do they have groups associated with the US military? Why donβt they do this in Washington/Oregon/Alaska?

I think the numbers will go down further as people who had already booked non refundable trips are less. I doubt many Canadians now will go out and book an American vacation.
I know some people that had a family trip booked to the states who are still going. But if they were booking today, in the present circumstances, they would never go to the states. I imagine there will be quite a few Canadians who will be making travel plans & will go anywhere but the US.
The amount of denialism and sense of entitlement from so many Americans. Even ones who donβt support Trump. Itβs unreal. Everything is looked at in the perspective of how it affects them. Incapable or unwilling to think about how it affects others, like Canadians.
Itβs a hard one. I have family in the states that always have voted, demonstrated against Trump. I have sympathy for them, but big picture, this slide into fascism has been decades in the making. It is a cautionary tale for us in Canada, with Poilievre & his #MapleMAGA Conservatives.

I feel for you. Must be tough seeing Poilievre get in when you had the opportunity to have a great MP. I live in a VERY Conservative riding in BC. It gets disheartening voting and see the Cons get in, federally & provincially, and see them swinging more and more right. But bit by bit, never give up.
