I support ranked choice voting/instant runoff or runoff elections until one candidate has 50% + 1. The problem with most PR proposals is voters never have to compromise, which leads to Hardliners being elected who Coalitions end up catering to, like what's happening in Israel.
Good point. Same thing happens under FPTP minorities. The often cited Israel issue can be managed by thresholds of vote percentages to hold a seat. Lack of compromise is more tribal politics which parties encourage. Canada's PR system would be specific to Canada & a huge complex undertaking.

I can’t even listen to PP but part of me hopes the CPC keeps him. Many Conservatives cannot stand him either and will absolutely vote Carney next time if that’s the choice. He’s utterly tanking when compared to Carney, though, so I wouldn’t be surprised if he gets the boot.
