It's quite blunt now that they have the power. What annoys me that they were very good earlier on to wrap it in "legitimate concerns" or to "protect women" or "protect children". chatGPT has been pretty good supporting the C++ libtorch and a huge time saver. However when googling libtorch there is virtually nothing to find on the web. Looks like it has been trained by a lot with tech's internal slacks, repos, chats, etc. So: python for the plebs and C++ for the pros?

Interesting take: the subject of AI itself is far too boring and I agree that inside it's just about one new development (transformer) and otherwise 50 year old algorithms (backprop). It tells more a story how people talk about it revealing different characters and motivations (including grift).

It's not just scale but very conscious decisions towards hardcore management with KPIs, sales pitches, marketing, the so called internationalisation (i.e.tons of overseas students) and a massive expansion over the last 10 years as business should do. Promotion nowadays 99% about having raised cash.

My experience is that the weak students use AI literally to get through. Without AI they would just fail. Also if they haven't paid attention in class they can't change course now because they just don't know hot to do it. Obv also the lazy ones or those with bad time management.
