😆 Carried dog food with me when we went to the dog park. If there was a fence weakness in a 5 acre park...they'd find it. Same...I needed "hound school" when I got my first 2 many years ago. Oh what I didn't know then.
All my hounds have been rescues. Hunters dump them like trash if they get lost or don't hunt anymore. Microchips with current contact information are saving factor to find dogs if they are lost.
One of my hounds escaped, gone for a week. Got a call from Humane Society they had him (microchip). He was groomed and looked beautiful. Someone had him, found out what a pain in the a$$ he was and turned him in.
My solution was less decorative, concrete blocks which they then tried to climb and go over the fence. 🙄
I have walker hounds. Two worked together. One dug the fence hole and the other would bend the chain link so they could escape. The "keep the hounds in the yard" has been an ongoing battle of strategies. Fun though. I'm amazed at their tenacity and stealth.
